Method was to start with a villains list, then go through in broadcast order weeding out all the individual Ice Warriors and Sontarans (who really aren't that interesting apart from Azaxyr) and pairing some weaker villains with their evil accomplices. And adding obscure ones. Television villains only, and that's ones which have been broadcast in Australia (and Mavic Chen). Identified by first story in which they appeared (although as with the Black Guardian it's debatable). You may not find your favourite, or indeed say an anti-hero rather than true villain has been included. Feel free to imagine these in as violent a combat as you wish--they are the bad guys!

OK, Animus tries it's mind control on Arcturus, a hatch opens on the front of his life support and ZAP! we get fried spider.

I found Azal to be very terrifying.  He helped create the mood in The Daemons, and made it the classic it is.

The Axons were reasonable, although I found them to be rather sympathetic villains than truly evil.

Azal wins it.

Yep, Axos says "Have some miracle element, Axonite--" and cease to exist!

Unfortunately, I cant comment on Bennett, as I havent seen The Resuce.

So by default Azaxyr wins.  Although I still don't like Monster of Peladon at all.

Bennett was pretty good for the sory he was in, but I suspect Koquillon isn't much chop against an Ice Lord...

Wearing the Didoan equivelant of a dress uniform and armed with what equates to a power tool might be impressive against some unsuspecting crash survivors, but versus that sonic disrupter/alfoil effect...brrr...Azaxyr wins.

Black Guardian vs the Borad.

I'll go for The Black Guardian, as I thought he was a very menacing and sinister villain - well at least in the Key to Time season!  The actor who played him was great.

I dislike most anything connected with Timelash, so the Borad lose.

Yes, the Borad sits in his chair of evil, and pushes his lever of evil down. A ray of evil emerges, enveloping the Black Guardian. He flashes in negative, and does whatever it was he did to make Turlough hurt lots before killing him. Then ten minutes later he does it to the Borad's real self.

I've been wondering what happens when the Skarasen meets up with the Borad. Is it love at first sight, with Borad saying "Look...we're just good friends..."?

The Zygons will always be one of my favourite villains, they were fantastic.  The acting by John Woodnutt was briliant in it.

They were one villains that I wished had returned.  They were one of the definitive monsters of the Baker era.

I can see the meeting between BOSS and Broton...

I think Ive seen bits of the Smugglers with Captain Pike in it, he looked quite menacing for sure.

But I'll pick Captain Rack, as Enlightment is one of my fave 5th Dr stories, and Ive seen it more often.

The Celestial Toymaker without doubt.

The one remaining episode with him in it, is a good one, and such a pity that the others are lost.

Would have been interesting had The Nightmare Fair gone ahead in the original Season 23

No contest--Catherine and the Abbot plot to evilly kill some Protestants, and then turn into dolls. Hmm.

Chameleons win this round.

I was quite impressed with the episodes of The Faceless Ones that I saw, and thought they projected a lot of genuine menace.

I can hardly remember the villains in Stones of Blood, which just about says it all really.

Cessair always came across to me as if David Fisher had a bad experience with a feminist--but the story itself is crammed with interesting ideas.

The Chameleons take Cessair and duplicate her, and the Ogri become their agents of stony blood drinking evil!

Chessnee and Shockeye were great characters, done very much in the Robert Holmes style.

Whilst I didnt like The Two Doctors overall, I thought the story had a lot of charm and wit in it.

Plus, seeing Jaqueline Pierce finally enter the Dr Who universe was great!!

I suspect that wearing fabulous gowns wouldn't bear much on being run down by a horse, so i'm giving it to the kitty cats...

Oh, this is good--
