Hey has anyone seen this site??
http://www.cybuscorporation.com/
I have been reading heaps of gossip on the Rise of the Cybermen.... if all the stuff they are saying is true this story will go down as a Doctor Who Classic and the rebirth of the Cybermen as a worthy opponent |

OK, fine, be warned, these are not spoilers.
The first episode will see a return of old friends, the de Clucks from Johannesburg. They will stay for a dinner party, then uproariously catch the wrong cab and end up in the early Jurassic.
A later episode (provisionally titled "The Doctor's Nose Gumby" but also referred to in the writer's guide as "Who sneezed all over this page?") sees the dark side of the Doctor emerge from a place of unimaginable evil.
The season finale will feature the return of a secret foe, possibly that nosy neighbor who was always looking over the fence, you know the one. With the little Hitler mustache and the unpronounceable surname. The Doctor (or possibly my friend's father) will turn the hose on him for perving at Rose sunbathing (or was that his wife?). |

With the Mystery return it would be a SERIOUSLY exciting if some old forms of Cybermen join the new ones cos the new ones look like mixed Tomb and Wheel in Space Cybermen in the middle!

The new cybermen look like poofters!!!!
Seriously, they are a cross btween Cpatain America and the robot from "Metropolis". What a let down!!!
I just hope they'll be as ruthless and as well played as they were in "Earthshock".
..........and what on earth was/has Martin been wrting about......something to do with the Doctor's nose, gumbies, a guy that looks like Hitler, and rivalry over Rose.........it makes no sense at all! waht does all that mean?

I think the Doctor should save a race of cybermen from rampaging humans trying to break them open for metal parts. |

I'd still like to know what you were talking about previously.......I've been carefully reading DWM and there is no mention of a Hitler clone, or the Doctor's nose or gumbies!!!!! |

You can't help yourself, can you, Lord President?
If you are going to continue to behave in this manner, I shall have to report you to the Castellan.........."No, not the mind probe!!!!!"

I was taking the opportunity to post a bunch of non-spoilers, in the knowledge that there is very little chance any of this will spoil series two for anyone. |

Someone mentioned there should be a mix of previous Cybermen along with the new version - great idea!
There never has been a definitive origin story for the Cybermen though, like 'Genesis of the Daleks' Would love to see that. |

The closest to origins are the Big Finish audio Spare Parts (no I haven't heard it), the page long prelogue to the novelisations of The Tenth Planet and The Cybermen (The Moonbase), David Bank's fanciful addition in his Cybermen book and the Doctor Who Magazine comic strip where it's revelaed they are actually decended from the Voord. Forget that last one. |

Tennant's new Cybermen story is called "Rise of the Cybermen". I know nothing about it's storyline, so I wonder if that title has anything to do with their origins?
P.S. - A 'genesis of the Cybermen would be wild!!!
P.P.S - Not long until "Genesis of the Daleks" comes to DVD - woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
