OK, the ABC has the rights to both (but aren't interested in the Children in Need special), and have promised to tell us in time for our publications prior to the debut. The UK premiere of series two will be April 15; they're at liberty to schedule after this. |

I watched a downloaded copy of 'Christmas Invasion' over the weekend (naughty me)! It was great - for everyone else who hasn't seen it - you'll love it. A good start. |

"Pretty good" he says! Pretty good? Is that all you can say for a Doctor who manages to be both Arthur Dent and Luke Skywalker in under 60 minutes!!!!!!
Tennant fights like a Jedi and is as eccentric as Tom Baker. He's got Pertwee's style and sense of morality - and for the girls, he's got the pretty boy image that Davison encapsulted. The BBC have got the formula perfect with Tennant.
Check out the BBC 1 preview............the show is going to go places we never would have imagined when we waited throughout the 1990s for its return.
............only problem is we're still stuck with Mickey, Rose and that plebian mother of Rose's. Damn, I can't stand them. They're every bit as unlikable as Tegan, Adric and Mel!!! |

I don't agree. Tennent is OK, but as always the star of the show is the writing.
Shane Bourne would be hard pressed to stuff that role up now. |

I thought it was a good intro to the new Doc. He sleeped through the 1st 3/4 of the episode which means he will be well rested for seaon two. and I love how he stuck it to the PM. it confirms what I though from the start, that is never trust a politian or power corrupts. |

"I can drop you with 5 words......No, make that six"
...........classic stuff! He may have been sleeping for some time, but when he awoke, he knocked down Harriet Jones - PM, dueled with the Sycorax Leader, and dressed better than any of the Doctors sine Tom Baker.
David Tennant IS the Doctor!!!!! |

I would rate Tennant's intro story below Pertwee's debut, but better than the other ones.
Hopefully he'll stay in the role for a few years - the last couple of Docs have only been there for 5 seconds it seems.
Jimmy is right though - Rose's mother is a pain, but I think Mickey has potential to be a good companion. Certainly better than the dweeb that was Adric. |

There was a strange reference to the Pertwee post-regeneration story. After the panic with the space probe, an information bar on the television says "Cottage Hospital scheme", cottage hospital being the name given to the medical centre the Doctor gets taken to.
Where Pertwee stole some furniture. |

Pertwee's first story was wonderful. I was a bit disapointed with the Autons in the 9th Doc's debut.
As long as The Master doesn't appear again though - that character has run its course. |

The Master was free to use in the Missing Adventures/Past Doctor Adventures. The BBC writer's guide banned him from the Eighth Doctor Adventures, except for a cameo right at the start--they appear to have taken his encounter with "the Eye of Harmony" in the telemovie seriously!
Whether or not the new TV series will include him pretty much falls on casting. If they think they can get some one who fills the shoes, he'll be back. There's just too much fanboy inside the production team for them to write him off! |

As long as Eric Roberts doesn't come back as the Master - what a terrible ham he was!
Roger Delgado is still the best incarnation of him.
Be interesting if they had Ace in the new series at some stage. Her story was never really finished in the televised adventures. |

I can now confirm Who won't be back for a while. Doc Martin ends on the 20th of May (I believe), making the 27th the most likely candidate. But ABC have confirmed this is not the case.
I'm genuinely sorry; it would have been the hot scoop for The Wall of Lies number one hundred! |

No wonder people download things from the internet these days. The tv stations always delay the good shows - especially the sci fi ones.
Look at Stargate - Ch 7 moved that around in various timeslots and never showed all the episodes. For shame! |

Sorry to break your narrative, gentlemen, but I'd just like to add that THE ONLY Master was Delgado!!!!!!
Ace was a pain, and like Mel, is better left behind in a supernova.
...................oh and the McCoy years.
So, Martin, what actually is on the empirical horizon with Tennant screenings on the ABC????? |
