Ok, sorry about the ambiguity of the title of this message, but Martin on another forum has reminded me of a question I've been trying to have answered for 25 years.......



When I was a child, a commercial TV station played a film during the working week at around lunch time, and it absolultely scared the living s*** out of me. I have no idea what the film's title was, but it has these characteristics/features:



1) It was in colour - and used technology/dress styles that were about mid to late 1970s.

2) It had a detective tracing a series of bizzare murders.

3) The murderer would leave a doll of his victims waiting for them (I remember one scene where a lady gets out of her car, and when she gets back in, she finds a doll facsimilie of herself, screams with terror, and somehow she actually became the doll)

4) The film ended with some young man (who was actually the killer) being interviewed by the detective - and somehow his 'forces of evil' work against him and the film ends with the young fella being found by the detective inside a cupboard, turned into a doll........what made this really creepy was he was sitting in a rocking chair, rocking back and forth saying "Mummy.......mummy........mummy..........." over and over again with a blank expression on his face.



This film gave me nightmares for years. I still can't get these memories out of my head!



I have no idea about the film, except for these things I have mentioned...........if anyone knows what it may have been, I'd love to know so I can see it again and exorcise these demons!

Sounds like an episode of Kolchak: The Night Stalker to me.



Darren McGavin wasn't in this film was he??
