Dr Who will soon start with a voice over saying:
"and as the TARDIS traverses the boundaries of time and space, these are the days of our lives........" |

I've just remembered. The Doctor can't be the last Timelord left - Romana is still somewhere out there in E-Space with one of the K9s....
Would love to see Lala Ward come back in a new episode. |

Perhaps do a sequel to 'City of Death'? Now that was a classic pairing of any Doctor and companion, everything about that story clicked.
What was the story with the Meddling Monk? He was another Timelord as well. He never did make a return appearance after the Hartnell era. Some more potential could have been made with that character maybe. |

Well, for that matter there should be Time Lords in the past. Or not. It's up to the current writers to define what a time war is and how this effects causality. |

Yes will be interesting to see what they come up with. Since the Daleks had obviously survived the war, then it's not unreasonable to assume that some Timelords did as well.
Another point in fact - it's not necessarily stated that Eccelston's Doctor is Doc No. 9 - he could have regenerated a few times since McGann - a possibility? |

Indeed they could. One of the benefits of Davies' lack of continuity to the classic series is the increased wiggle room. |

On that point - what's to say that the Hartnell Dr was actually the first one?
Has it been explicitly stated the the Hartnell Doc was the first persona?
It would be interesting to find out if the Eccelston Dr was the first of a new regeneration cycle......... |

"The Five Doctors" - Doctor 1 learns of his fifth incarnation and says "So there are five of me now!!!!"
QED.
As for regenrations between McGann and Eccleston, there's more than wriggle room - there's enough to fit a galaxy!!!!!
Davies has done a 'Pol Pot' with the series of Dr Who! He's basically implied that Eccleston is THE Doctor - and references to his former sleves has been nil.
It's as if there is this series and then there's those ones the BBC did last century. they even regard Davies first series as 'Season 1' - literally!!!! The way Davies and Dr Who Magazine treated the show prior to Eccleston is very similar to how Cushing is regarded as having been the Doctor. People go, 'Oh yeah there was that gut with the curly hair and boggly eyes, and that other bloke who wore a cricket outfit, but isn't Dr Who the dude who wears black and says 'Fantastic!"???
But now with David Tennant's eccentric portrayal and the show reintroducing Sarah Jane Smith and K9, I sense that the old magic will come back.
Actually, I'm quite certain.

Back to Jamie's comment; Eccleston is the Cushing Doctor's second incarnation. |

Don't forget The Rani, Jimmy
Kate O'Mara would be most displeased you forgot her!!!!!!
The 60s Dr Who films can't be canon, as they repeated the stories that were told in Hartnells' era.
But what of Shada? Is that part of the official Dr Who timeline - even though it was never completed?? |

Whoops! I did forget The Rani!!!! She'd have me genetically reconditioned for that!!!!!
Well, trying to wrap my head around Dr Who (dis)continuity is a recipe for insanity, and I don't want to go down that track!!!!
> However, with our list of Time Lords 'out there' in the universe, it is more than likely (actually, it's pretty obvious) that The Doctor is not the last of their race.
> I just hope that Russel T Davies does take this into account during Tennant's stories
> Oh, and it would be great if we could see a 'Doctors' story with Tennant and McGann - that would rock!!!!
> And it would be fan - tas - tic if they could let us know what did happen in that time war!
...........it remains to be seen............ |

Wouldn't it be great if the BBC actually did a mini-series, say 3, 2 hr parts, which showed what happened in the Time War?
They could show it after the current series, and have Paul McGann in it - which would lead in nicely to Eccelston's debut.
That way, McGann would be able to finally have a proper showcase for his Dr, and 'the blanks' could be filled in for the fans.
Good idea??? |

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!! They HAVE to do something about the time war! It raises too many questions (as we well know!) and it's got so many possibilities for great stories, plot twists, action, intrigue, etc. |

If you mean the Pertwee narrated audio, this was all recorded and scheduled to be released when the episodes were recovered from Hong Kong. They were relased within six months of being found, the audio was put back by about a year. |

Doctor Who is whatever Russell Davies says it is at the moment, with the thing rating and selling better than ever. He's made it clear he's not interested in explaing himself. If there is more to be said on the Time War in the televised adventures it'll probably be after he leaves. |

I don't think I got an answer to my Shada question.
Even though it wasn't completed, is it still regarded as being 'cannon'?? |
