Only good thing about "Invasion of the Dinosaurs" was the storyline - Plastic dino's knocking doe\wn buildings made of cardboard - the scariness was just how bad the effects were!

As for 'pathetic', what about McCoy's continual need to raise his hat every 5 minutes in his first two seires. He intoduced himself or some one and would raise his hat. He'd meet some one and raise his hat. He'd see something/some one die, he'd raise his hat. He's think of something and raise his hat.

> Was this body language intended to show some sort of superior intelligence?

..........and what about the music for Mc Coy's era? I'm sure they borrowed it all from fish and chip shop arcade games from the 1980s

The opening titles for the McCoy era were the worst ones - followed by the one for Colin Baker.

The titles for the 2nd and 4th Drs were the best ones, although the new series titles are pretty good.

I like the season 11 title sequence--the tunnel, full body shot of Pertwee. But this was my first.

The Troughtom story titles never fail to amuse. The show's never been closer to the sort of thing The Curse of Fatal Death was trying to parody, The "something" of "noun" format. Most of them would make pretty good Hammer horror movie titles. Which might be a good game sometime..."What would the Hammer movie The Enemy of the World entail?"

My favourite title sequence by far was Pertwee's Season 11.

But I really love the new theme music for Tennant/Eccleston.

Mc Coy's music, effects, dialogue, narrative, companions, costumes, direction and production were all atrocious.

> Some American fans called it part of the illness associated with "The Reign of Turner" ........and then there's "The Evil of Cartmel"

........and considering that the show had two egomaniacs (who desrve to think of themselves that way, anyway) sharing the same surnames, there is "The Power of the Bakers"

"The Image of The Peri" (for Adult audiences only) - whoa!!!!!

"The Writer fom the Pit" (dedicated to Andrew Cartmel)

"Attack of the Dandies" (Pertwee's dress sense become contagious)

"Revenge of the Doctor" (an obscure and violent 1986 story in which colin Baker strikes back - literally!)

"Horror of the Lost Lines" (Hartnell strikes fear into the hearts of Verity Lambert, Waris Hussein, Donald Tosh, et al)

"The Undergarment Menace" (another obscure story that Nicola Bryant and Lousie Jameson paid a lot of money to not have distributed outside of  BBC family circles )

"The Celestial Lovemaker" (JNT wanted this to be Davison's opening story, but after seeing THAT photo of Colin Baker, he changed his mind!)

"The Myth Maker" (JNT tries to persuade the BBC that the Sylvester Mc Coy years should not be wiped!)

I thought 'The Myth Maker' was about when JNT used to say at conventions that 'the memory cheats!'

Or maybe that was when he thought he was making good television.....

Nicola Bryant is ok, but Leela still gets my vote!

Ive just remembered 'The Kings Daemons', now that was another horrid story.

Anthony AInley was pretty over the top in that one, and also in 'Planet of Fire' come to think of it.

Had Roger Delgado still been alive, wouldn't it have been cool had they done a story where the Roger Delgado Master met the Ainley one, in an 80s story?  - would have been worth seeing I reckon.

2 Masters against 2 Doctors perhaps?

Interesting. Most interesting.

I've never ever thought about 'The Master's' together like 'The Doctors'.

Thinking about it now, I just don't think it would work - The Master was such a malevolent and devious character that he'd probably attempt to destroy his own self (he'd battle with his former incarnation)

.......do you get what I mean????

The Kings Demons is approximatly my least favourite story of all. It seems incredible to me that Terrance Dudley wrote Four to Doomsday and Black Orchid in season 19!

Not a lot's been done with the Master. The Delgado model followed the form set down in Terror of the Autons, and the others tended to be nore intersted in self preservation--which makes for a better motivation in my opinion. A couple of novel writers have given us alternate versions. Lance Parkin's generic Doctor Who novel The Infinity Doctors gives us a "good Master", the Magistrate. David A McIntee's The Dark Path gives us an origin story and a name! But best of all is his novel The Face of the Enemy. The potential of UNIT making the Master stand in for the Doctor in Claws of Axos is fulfilled!

It is possible that they could use a version of The Master that was in 'The Deadly Assassin' & 'The Keeper of Traken'.

That version showed him to be even more unhinged than usual, and therefore more dangerous.

I note that Martin mentioned Blake's 7 in an old post.  There are too many goofs in that show to mention!  But what a show though!

"Blake's 7" rocked!!!

> But at times, it did get annoying. Especially when Tarrant joined and just posed and posed and posed.......and Villa just made one liners after one liners after one liners........and Avon just showed off his calculating intellect, and showed offf his calculating intellect, and showed off his calculating intellect...................it was so bloody formulaic!!!!! Once Travis had been killed off and Blake had 'vanished', the show began to go down hill quite rapidly. The first two series with lots of stories focussing on the battle between the freedom fighters and the Federation was fantastic, but I think that by the midway point of Seaon 3 (after "City at The Edge of the World"), it just became Tarrant posing, Villa one lining and Avon showing off with little bits of zzzzzzzz storyline for them to work with (but then you get the penultimate story, "Blake", which I loved, and Martin has already pointed out that it had one of the biggest mistakes in it of all)
