Ace was an attempt to make punk youths seem more complex/sophisticated than they are.

It's people like that who now go around wearing black, quoting existentialism, and thinking that they're cool because they 'reject society'.

Sorry, I thougth Ace was a waste of space, and just one of JNTs many feeble attempts at trying to appeal to today's (1980s!!!!) youth, who more into sex and violence than do - goody interplanetary heores................................................................hence the Doctor's return had to be in the guise/persona of Eccleston - all filled with attitude and anger to appeal to our very angry world that we have (all eating our fish and chips, watching TV, and wondering why our lives are so dull........!)

* Whoops!!! I'm starting to preach (that's not good for my blood pressure!) - and it's school holidays - AND I've got work to do!!!!! *

Well at least ACE had some personality, which couldn't be said for a few of the 80s companions.

Her pairing with McCoy started to get quite interesting towards the end.  Like a student/teacher relationship.

Adric was a dork, and the best thing he ever did was blow himself up! Hooray!!!!!

Turlough was so up himself, that I'm surpised he didn't walk around with a mirror all the time.

Nyssa was HOT! But that was about it.

Tegan was pathetic. Some sort of feminist icon that just went wrong. Very, very, very wrong.

Kamelion was an enigma........what the heck was he? He joins them in "The King's Demons", then vanishes, then reappears in "Planet of Fire" as if he'd been there all along! Curse you JNT!!!! Curse you!!!!!

Peri was a babe! An absolute stunner. Just eye candy, that's all.

Mel was horrid. She may aswell have been a presenter on "Play School" (actually, I think Bonnie Langford thought she was on that program!)

.........but Ace was annoying. Like I said, they tried to make some punk interesting. She wasn't. She was just a punk - and she did not learn from the Doctor.

............Rose is learning from the Doctor.

Ace didn't.
