I prefered the childish stories--they had style. My favourite by a long shot is The Vanishing Earth. A pantomime villain living under a fair is mining a non-existant mineral (Magnamite) which holds the Earth togeather. Only the kid posse, with the help of kindly uncle Steen, can prevent disaster!

Ironically enough, 'The Vanishing Earth' is one of my fave stories.

The Blue & The Green is another one.  Very atmospheric.

Ahhhh Flash Gordon... now that brings back memories...

I loved the 1980 film, and to this day, that sequence where they place their hands into that gnarled tree with the poisonous critter in it is one of my most vivid memories of going to the movies as a kid tieing a close second with James Bond dropping in on a hidden crater base covered with a fake lake.

Sam Jones was a good Flash, and Max Von Sydows Ming is for me the one flitting around in my subconscious lording it evily over the Universe.

But let's get down to brass tacks: Ornella Muti as Princess Aura... daymn!

*fap*fap*fap* - stoppit!
