I agree totally.
JNT was a gay Jew.
He fancied his Doctors and he did all he could to extract every bit of financial value he could out of the show, at the expense of good stories, good direction, etc.
Though his latest memoirs, reviewed by Martin in Chameleon Factor No. 80, states that JNT wanted to move on at the end of Seasons 20, 21, 23 25 and 26, but the BBC wouldn't let him.
Now, I ask, why would they let that gay twit not leave? What was the BBCs agenda? Were they aware that JNT was killing the show? Did they want that to happen?
Martin? |

...
I can only guess. JNT says they would have cancelled the show instead of bringing in another producer. |

I thought The Mind Robber was an excellent story.
The first 3 parts of it were great, although it did lose it's way a bit in the last 2.
With that story, anything was possible and you never knew what could happen next.
I loved the inventiveness of that one - it played with ideas and reality. |

Of the two ABC showed in 1986, The Mind Robber is well and away the better of the two!
No matter what the reviewer in the current Wall of Lies thinks... |

Dr Who goes psychedelic, and together with "The Invasion", it is the best of Troughton's stories that we can actually watch. |

Hmm, short list!
The Tomb of the Cybermen
The Dominators
The Mind Robber
The Krotons
The Seeds of Death
The War Games
And of course...
The Three Doctors
The Five Doctors
The Two Doctors
The Omen
I might have one wrong there... |

Wasn't Troughton good in "The Omen"!
(and that was a good film, too.)
Troughton has to be the most under rated actors to play The Doctor, and quite possibly the most under rated Doctor as well. Do you think this may be due to the fact that so little of his stories actually do exist? |

I suspect this may be the "my first Doctor" effect...Troughton seems to be well thought of, but generally only comes near the top of people's lists. He and Hartnell suffer from this as they were inaccesible for so long. When fans were polled as to which story they'd like to see most released on video (VHS, Beta and videodisc!) in 1983, Tomb came number one! So the BBC released Revenge... |

Wait a minute, are you saying that he actually is really popular? I don't quite understand what you mean. |

Yes--it's the contoversial ones who tend to rate low, Patrick's probably everyone's second or third favrourite!
Hmm the online poll I found <a href="http://www.unitnews.co.uk/forum/poll.php?s=d5e34c7f3a8cedc8e5e5fa27da9e05c2&do=showresults&pollid=25">here</a> puts him way down the list!
