You're right, very difficult!
The Parting of the ways was a great story and a fine send off for the 9th Dr.
While An Unearthly Child started the whole thing.
Tough choice...but I'll go for An Unearthly Child, due to its place in Dr Who history.
I'll still go for City of Death - I'll always love that story. |

Agreed on Unearthly, but I still have a sneaking liking for season 11-- oh well, on we go!
Doctor Who and the Silurians vs Earthshock.
Father's Day vs Frontier in Space. |

I'll choose Earthshock, because of the long awaited return of the Cybermen and the death of Adric.
The Silurians was good, but too long.
And Father's Day gets my pick too. It strengethened the dynamic between the Dr and Rose, and showed a lot more characterisation than usual for a Dr Who story. |

Doctor Who and the Silurians is one of my favourites, but I see Jimmy's got Earthshock down as well--so it wins! Conversly he's not a Father's Day fan, so Frontier makes it to the next round. Hmm...
Genesis of the Daleks vs Kinda.
Logopolis vs Mission to the Unknown. |

Genesis of the Daleks by a mile. Even though I love Kinda, Genesis is such a well written and acted story. One of the classics for sure.
Logopolis as well. A very important story in several ways, the least of which it cemented JNTs stamp on Dr Who - for better or worse.... |

Pyramids of Mars without question. An absolute classic story, that has everything a Dr Who fan could want!
Spearhead From Space wins as well. Another classic that set up the Pertwee era in fine style.
Easy pickings this time!! |

Very very tough choice.
I like both 'Terror' stories a lot for different reasons. In fact it's such a tough choice, Im asking for a raincheck - I can't decide!!!
However, I can choose Ark In Space for being the winner this time. One of the early classic Baker stories that made his team gel perfectly. |

I'm marginally in favour of Autons, flawed as it is. Jimmy's right into it though, so sorry Zygons!
Ark in space without a doubt. Just the "Humanity!" speech in episode one alone beats Armageddon Factor!
The Caves of Androzani vs The Claws of Axos.
The Curse of Peladon vs The Daleks' Master Plan. |

Caves wins for sure. It ended the 5th Drs Era in fine style and ushered in the Baker years - maybe the beginning of the end???
Curse of Peladon as well. The role reversal of the Ice Warriors being good guys was a great idea, loved it. |

I like Claws, but...
I can't choose Curse over Daleks'! I see Jimmy's got Curse down in the bad list, so Master Plan it is!
The Deadly Assassin vs The Evil of the Daleks.
The Five Doctors vs The Green Death. |

The Deadly Assassin wins for sure. A great and tense story, with fine acting.
I'll go for The Five Doctors as well, since it was a very important story. Although I do like Green Death as well, but not as much as Five Drs |

I'd go for Evil myself, but you have numbers on your side. And Green Death's flaws are less than Five Doctors', but it's so line ball...
The Invasion vs The Keeper of Traken.
The Krotons vs The Leisure Hive. |

hmm difficult choice.
I have heard a lot of good things about The Invasion, which I havent seen. But then again I liked Keeper of Traken, due to the return of the Master.
However, I'll go for The Invasion, as it further set up the UNIT years, and was the last great story of the 2nd Drs era.
The Leisure Hive wins. I never liked the Krotons at all, a dull, boring story. |

Invasion woops Keeper, two episodes missing and all--remind me to tell you about the conspiracy theory about that! Leisure Hive over Krotons, although I have great memories of this story being one of the two ABC 1986 repeats.
The Masque of Mandragora vs The Moonbase.
The Pirate Planet vs The Reign of Terror. |

Masque wins for sure. A great story and very rich location shooting. I cant wait for that one to come out on dvd.
The Pirate Planet as well. One of Douglas Adams good scripts.
Love to hear about the theory re: Invasion. Sounds interesting.... |

I'll start another thread for that!
Moonbase is pretty good, but I'll go with you on Masque. And Pirate Planet was as good as season 16 got!
The Romans vs The Sea Devils.
The Sontaran Experiment vs The Talons of Weng-Chiang. |
