Remembering season 24, it always comes as a surprise that its one one of the four parters! A couple of clubees made a parody soundtrack for episode one, have to see if we can get a copy of that.

Ice Warriors for sure, they were great villains.
I heard on the grapevine that Russell T Davies was interested in bringing them back for Series 3, I hope so - its been too long since they've been seen. |

I disagree, all Cybermen obey the Cyberleader. These showed some independance by who was suitable for conversion & was not. Not forgetting these were version 1.0b and still programmed to obey whats his name.
Thirdly they are from another dimension which is slighty different to ours, thus the Cybermen would be different.
That is my two cents worth.

I must say I was pretty disappointed with how they were portrayed in the new series. One thing the Cybermen have never been, and thats mindless slaves. I think Davies diluted their power in that one.

Also, if you have seen the final episode of season 2 then one particular Cyberwoman does not obey... so I don't think they are all mindless I think as time goes on they get more and more powerful |

Oh dear jest, our fanboy (or in my case girl) fantasies are too similar! I just had this conversation with Greg just the other day... |

Henry van Statten and Scorby vs Ice Warriors.
Scorby is the winner here.
Ice Warriors were silly and cumbersome.
Van Statten was a twit.
Scorby was evil, merciless and sadistic.
(His character helped to make The Seeds of Doom such a classic horror story, with dark elements) |

I have to go with the Ice Warriors they went from evil to political they evolved in there plans for world domination. also with the seeds of doom it was just like watching a low budget version of the Thing. |

I'd say Ice Warriors too, even though I like Scorby and wish he'd survived!

Kronos - though really it wasn't a villain, it was being used by the Master as a weapon.
*Remember, Kronos was beyond good and evil* |

Thanks for bringing this one up; Kronos was a bad chicken for sure. Everything it did was bad, its realisation was bad, and it ended up as a big face. Kalik was a much naughtier foe, we'll go with him.

I'll pick Linx, as Lady Cassandra redeemed herself for her past actions in New Earth.
Be interesting to see Davies take on the Sontarans... |

Linx was a great villain, but not particulalry distinguished, as Sontarans are uniform! I'd take Cassandra.

very tough choice this time.
Im a big fan of both stories and villains, but if I must choose, then it'd be Magnus Creel. 'Talons' is one of those stories I can see dozens of times over,,,,,in fact I have!!!! |

Guys, you go so bloody quickly!!!!!
I'll vote for Linx in the previous round. The Sontarans were the second best monsters after the Cybermen - Linx was an exceptionally good villain.
I really hope that Davies brings them back in the 2007 series - would be fantastic to see them again.
As for Mandragora Helix and Magnus Creel, in my opinion there is no competition - Creel was a complete twit, with his wheezing, manic temper and pathetic lines.
This one has to go to the Mandragora Helix - which, I believe, was supposed to revisit Earth again in the twentieth century so the Doctor says at the end of the story (if my memory serves me well).......it would be good to see both the helix and the Sontarans up against the tenth Doctor! |

Magnus Creel could travel in time, not very well. Create henchmen with pigs and puppets, not hygenic. but at least he was caporial. |

I'd take Magnus over the Helix, as he was all interesting and it's less than the sum of its parts (Masque had a better story than villain).
Mavic Chen vs Mehendri Solon. |
