David Maloney's impact on Dr Who as a director is as potent as Robert Holmes' legacy as the show's script editor. Maloney was also responsible for the best period of Blake's 7. Behind the camera Maloney took Nation and Holmes' scripts and turned them into indelible realities during the 'golden years' of both Dr Who and Blake's 7. We have lost yet another veteran of 'classic' British sci fi to the reality of corporeal existence. He will be remembered.
