The 4400 cancelled

Scott Peters, executive producer of The 4400, announced the cancellation in a brief statement on the show's message board.

To all the wonderful fans of The 4400

Its with great sadness that I pass along to you the information Ive just received The 4400 has been cancelled. Weve had a great time bringing you this story and submersing you in the lives of all these incredible characters. Thank you especially to the folks on the board here whose tireless devotion to the show is nothing short of remarkable. Shout out to Bubba, by the way! I love your posts, man.

I just spoke to Joel and we had a great talk about what we all accomplished and how much well miss our family that is our crew and our cast and our fans. But at least we got to go out with a bang! I had an awesome time directing the last episode. I think I got to make almost every single cast member cry (on camera). How much fun was that?!

So let me raise my metaphorical glass to you all and thank you for being so loyal and so dedicated. I wish we could go on forever, but the party has come to an end. Be well and on behalf of all of us at The 4400 thank you, its been a pleasure.

A great shame.

I thought it was a very creative show that entertained as well as made you think.

First the Battlestar Galactica remake now this - hopefully something equally as good will come to take their place.

BSG got to tell its story in its own time, and its makers chose when to end it. And it's come back once already. Until we know more about the situation I'm going to presume The 4400 was not ready to go and will never return.

Yes, I'm certainly grateful at least that this version of Galatica got to complete its' tale.

Both series were very well produced and written, good intelligent sci fi.

On a very loosely based topic:

I notice with interest that the Galactica 1980 series is to be released onto dvd in Feb.

I recall seeing it when it first came out - way back in the days when I was a wee skip of a lad!

I remember enjoying it, but what do other people think of it these days???

We saw The Return of Starbuck at a meeting last year. I'm still surprised by the bizarre decision to run it on Seven as it it were more episodes of the first series.
