RIP Bea Arthur May 13, 1922 – April 25, 2009
02/05/2009 08:43 GMT

Posted by Martin

Beatrice Arthur is reported to have died peacefully at home from cancer today.

While best known for The Golden Girls and Maude, Arthur had some interesting genre credits, such as Futurama and History of the World Part 1. However she will be forever feted as the star of The Star Wars Holiday Special; the jewel in George Lucas' crown.
