The Australian quotes his wife Gaye saying he had suffered from chronic low blood pressure in recent weeks, leading to fainting spells. Barrett hit his head this morning and was rushed to the Gold Cost Hospital, only to die of a brain hemorrhage .
Barrett had ongoing roles in Thunderbirds and enjoyed a guest appearance in the 1965 Doctor Who story The Rescue. He recently appeared in an interview on the DVD release of this last title.
He was often seen on Australian television, and won an AFI Award for his appearance in The Chant of Jimmy Blacksmith.

great actor with a face that shows character.
They seem to be dropping like flies, they are getting old. There does not seem to be as many actors out there now (of the present generation) that can seem to match the old ones with their skill. There are some, but not as many as before times.
