The Master of the land of fiction wins.

I think had they explored more about the origins of the machine that controlled him, then The Mind Robber would have been even more fascinating.

Im not sure if it was made clear in the story or not - but who actually built the machine in the first place?

It's not, although Steve Lyons does in Conumdrum.

I don't think the Marshie's ability to evolve quickly will be much chop!

Mavic Chen wins this time out.

From what I've read/seen, the villlain seemed to be one of the good early ones.

I'd have to go with Meglos.

Even though the story he appeared in wasn't too good, at least he had more menace than the Meddling Monk.

I think the Meddling Monk was a missed opportunity - he could have been a very early version of the Master - a sinister and evil Time Lord.

Mehendri Solon wins.  Brain of Morbeus was a great story, with well fleshed out villains.

The less said about anything from Twin Dilemma the better!!

I never found Monarch to be threatening at all.  A very lacklusture villain for a very average story.

So I'll give this one to the Monoids.

The Monoids also sound like a better idea then their realisation!

Morbius wins - same reasons as I gave previously.

I never found any of the villains to be up to scratch during the McCoy era really.

The only villains I found that worked during his era were the clowns in Greatest Show In The Galaxy, very sinister.

Morgus for sure.

The Movellans weren't the least bit scary at all, pretty lame in my opinion.

...unless you were in a dance off movie competing against them--Resurrection benefited from both their namecheck and absence!

The Nimons werent scary at all - but they were perfect villains for the pantomime that was Horns of Nimon!

I'll go with Nero, as he posed more of  a genuine threat.

One seemed to have wandered in from a production of Jack and the Beanstalk (moo.), and the other was looking for a Carry On film.

Ogrons for sure.  Even though they were mostly mindless heavies, even today they still look very menacing - very memorable.

The Omega of The Three Doctors was great, a very formidable foe.

Ive always liked The Three Doctors in that they chose to use a new villain, instead of an old one, for an anniversary story.

It has to be said that Omega's re-appearance in Arc of Infinity was a mistake - he should have just stayed in the one story.

His reappearence in the BBC Books is often cited as another mistake--I like it though!
